Open Media to Open Eyes
THIS BLOG's purpose is CONNECTIVITY.
It is a portal to all the other blogs I’ve created (or will have a
hand in helping create, with my fellow Society of United Literature storytellers: my all around good guys). It clearly is a work, not only in progress, but just begun.
I
took up blogging because ... well, you’ll find out when you actually get into
my blogs (which sounds a little naughty, now that I read it back). Forgive my
seeming irreverence; it’s just excitement filling me with glee.
The truth of it: I love being productive.
Thing
is, it was a lot easier for me to work my a** off while in the Trinidad and
Tobago Media limelight than as a “self-starter.” Not because of money (I wasn’t
that well paid) or fame
(fickle-fingered for sure), but because there’s something that drives me harder
when I’m employed by another.
Call it the brainwash of feeling like you’re
being done a favour when someone accepts to underpay you and exploit you for
your very specialised skills, inimitable talents and multiplicity of abilities.
Listen,
I’m making good on my promise to those fans who, to this day – ten years after
my five-year talk show, fifteen years after my five-year column, and however
many years after all my previous Media presence – say they miss me and wish to
see me back in the swing of things.
I
want this, too.
Better led than misled
True productivity must be married to worthy purpose. The local Media arena today appears to have lost sight of that. As an entity it can see farther than ever before; yet its perspective has narrowed: like telescopic tunnel-vision.
Further,
it fosters the same smallness of seeing in its market; effectively creating
less liberal-minded, thus more easily duped, herd-minded groups, which frown on
individual innovation that could better the nation for everybody.
The
most burning question to be posed when considering the formation of any entity
that will hold sway over the choices people make must ever be: Where will it lead us?
If
the answer is: To the progress and expansion of human capacity, that redounds
to the benefit of our world, by calling on each of us to continuously try to
turn wrongs into rights, then all the negatives of “Media socialisation” should
fall away, and only positives will be upheld.
Good
Media uplifts and advances a people. Good people try to,
“Do good. Do only good. Do good for others.” – Buddhist tenet
My Mission
I am committed to Making Multi-Media Motivation.
I am
going to make Open Media in Trinidad and Tobago.
I
will manifest real word power.
What can I write here that will convince you? This much only: By my blogworQs you shall know me.
